2 People Hurt in 3-Car Accident
Posted on June 20, 2014
An Oklahoma accident that took place in Cushing at the intersection of Highway 51 and Ripley Road resulted in two people being injured and taken to hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries. The car crash took place on June 14 at about 7:08 p.m. The accident occurred when an underage person driving a 2004 Chevrolet truck allegedly passed a vehicle on the left and slammed head-on into a 2006 Chevrolet pickup driven by a 57-year-old man. The young person’s truck then rolled into a third vehicle driven by a 72-year-old woman.
The driver of the 2006 truck was flown by air to Saint Francis Hospital. He was later reported to be in stable condition. The underage driver was taken to a hospital, treated and then released. The 72-year-old woman was reportedly not injured.
Accident reports did not detail if passing was legal on the particular section of road where the accident occurred. Police also did not disclose whether they believe alcohol, drugs or any other sort of impairment was involved.
In many accidents in Oklahoma and across the U.S. each year, countless people are injured due to the negligence of others behind the wheel. In some cases, healing may not be easy or financially feasible. For many, the additional cost of medical bills and vehicle repairs makes it very difficult to recover fully from an accident. When money becomes an issue, talking to a lawyer who has experience representing injured people may be wise. A lawyer may be able to assess the facts of the case and determine whether it is wise to pursue a settlement. The money, if awarded, may help ease the financial strain of paying medical bills.
